Introduction :
During Navaratri, Jagadamba is worshiped for nine days, during which Maha Ashtami and Mahanavami are of special significance. According to Hindu rituals, Maa Siddhidatri is worshiped on the ninth day of Navaratri, which ends with Mahanavami.
Who is Maa Siddhidatri?
In Hindu sacred texts, Maa Siddhidatri is described as the goddess of accomplishment and salvation. In her four hands, she holds a conch shell (Shankh), a Chakra, a Gada, and a Padama(lotus flower). She is also considered to be a form of Goddess Saraswati. Maa Siddhidatri rides the lion and sits on Kamal. It is also customary to perform Kanya Puja on Navami Tithi.
A Narrative about Maa Siddhidatri :
As per Hindu religious scriptures, Lord Shiva achieved all eight siddhis by performing severe penance for Maa Siddhidatri.
At the time of creation of the universe, Lord Rudra worshipped Adi-Parashakti, the supreme Goddess of Power, who had no form. Accordingly, Adi-Parashakti appeared as Siddhidatri from the left side of Lord Shiva.
As a result of the grace of Mother Siddhidatri, half the body of Lord Shiva had become a goddess and latter was known as Ardhanarishvara.
According to Hindu scriptures and belief, all Devtas were much troubled due to the atrocities committed by Mahishasura went to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.
An ethereal radiance emanated from all the Devtas present, and a divine power was created as a result, which is considered the most powerful form of Maa Durga, known as Maa Siddhidatri, because she was created from the combined power of all the Devtas.
It is believed that after nine days of fierce fighting, Durga Maa finally managed to kill the powerful Mahishasura on the tenth day of the waxing moon.This day is celebrated as Vijayadashmi. It is for this reason that she is also known as Mahishsurmardini.
Pooja & Mantras of Maa Siddhidatri:
Maa Siddhidatri possesses the siddhis of Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitva, and Vashitva. In addition to providing all eight siddhis to her devotees, she also provides enlightenment.
A bhog / prasadam of til or sesame seeds is offered to Maa Siddhidatri on the ninth day of Navratri, Maha Navami.
Maa Siddhidatri likes purple color. In such a situation, the devotee should worship Mother Siddhidatri by wearing clothes of this color on the day of Navami. It is believed that by doing this the blessings of the mother always remain.
One should first take a bath in the morning before worshipping Maa Siddhidatri. Wear neat clothes to the place of worship of the mother. Establish the idol of Maa Siddhidatri, perform aarti by lighting the diya of Ghee and offer Prasadam to Mata.
The devotees should meditate by chanting the following mantra and seek the blessings of Maa Siddhidatri.

- सिद्ध गन्धर्व यक्षाद्यैरसुरैरमरैरपि। सेव्यमाना सदा भूयात् सिद्धिदा सिद्धिदायिनी॥ Siddha Gandharva Yakshadyairasurairamarairapi। Sevyamana Sada Bhuyat Siddhida Siddhidayini॥
Why is Maa Siddhidatri worshipped?
In Sanskrit, the word Siddhi means supernatural power and Dhatri means “reward giver” or “the giver of perfection.” Hence, Maa Siddhidatri is believed to fulfill all divine aspirations. She blesses her devotees with knowledge and bestows them with spiritual knowledge.
Astrologers believe that worshipping the Maa and chanting mantras can lead to the attainment of eight siddhis and wisdom, just as Lord Shiva had achieved eight siddhis by doing penance to Maa Siddhidatri.
Due to the fact that planet Ketu is governed by Maa Siddhidatri, it is believed that the Goddess provides the energy and direction to this planet. Therefore, worshippers of Maa Siddhidatri are protected from the adverse effects of Ketu grah.
